Acqua Fresca
The evocative theme of water, as a precious resource and essential parameter of future urban development, lies at the heart of the research done with a group of students from the Academy of Architecture and residents of Mendrisio, under the direction of the lecturers Antoine de Perrot and Dr. Mansoureh Aalaii. On one side the aim is to draw the public's attention to areas of the city that are often overlooked, on the other side to implement a transdisciplinary and collaborative approach to the territory. Building on their specific expertise, Antoine de Perrot (artist name Onzgi) architect, urban researcher and visual artist and Dr. Mansoureh Aalaii medical doctor, dancer and choreographer, propose a unique research project linking the scientific and artistic approaches.
The area studied this year is called Acquafresca, located between Mendrisio and Salorino, on the boundary between the urban area and nature. This exhibition presents the result of the research in form of several artistic interventions carried out directly on site. Visitors also have the unique opportunity to discover unexpected places of the city that are usually inaccessible to the public such as water sources and their purification areas to drinking water, caves and technical structures that bring water into our homes.
Workshop and Exhibition Group: Benedetta Agnello, Stefania Archilli, Gregory Benoit, Lorenza Bentini, Stefano Croci, Gian Mario Ferrari, Bruna Ferrazzini, Yannic Fratini, Elena Gallo, Ben Huser, Eleonora Lurà, Valerio Maccabruno, Naoko Mameyakko, Marco Ossola, Aurora Vernocchi, Lucia Zanti, Student-assistent Workshop: Jean-Marc Gnagne, Michelle Brunner
